Day 3 Muxia

Distance – 32 kms. Difficulty 6 /10

Today we leave Olveiroa and hike to Muxia. The trail will have a gradual descent of about 300 meters before we reach Muxia. The village of Muxia is ancient. There are Celtic ruins still preserved at the coast. It is a small fishing seaport town. There are several good albergues and restaurants at Muxia. This is a fascinating sea coast village which is also mystifying. There is bus service bus between Santiago de Compostela & Muxia. Check the weekend & sunday bus schedule. In Santiago, the bus station is close to the Renfe train station. At Muxia you can obtain the peregrino Compostela certificate at the local municipal office. Muxia has several monuments. The church by the coast & the monument of the Prestige (“La Ferida ” or ” the wound ” by Artist Alberto Bañuelos ) as well as several well preserved Celtic ruins. This celtic village is thousands of years old.
