Day 4 Finisterre

Distance – 30 kms. Difficulty 6 / 10

Today we leave Muxia and hike to the seaport of Finisterre, The terrain has a climb of ~ 270 mtrs after Xurantes and then levels off and is mostly flat with roads. The hiking trail is coastal. There are several small villages like Xurantes, Guisamonte, Frixe, Lires, Canosa, Padris, Rial with bars & restaurants along the way. This portion is rural and has a concentration of farming & cows that are of Celtic tradition. The village of Finisterre has a harbor and is coastal. The lighthouse is the main attraction and can be reached by taxi or a good walk from the village center. Finisterre becomes very touristy near the lighthouse. The views at the top of the hill are impressive and eternal. There are several albergues and restaurants. There is bus service to / from Santiago de Compostela.
