Valenca to Tui

Today we leave Valenca and arrive at Tui. This will be the shortest hiking day of the Portugal Camino & the Camino Frances. There is a bridge crossing over the river Minho that divides Portugal and Spain. You are now in Spain. Tui is a medieval fortress village. It has several albergues, several good restaurants, hotels, churches and attractions. Tui has a large Cathedral & had a Jewish population during the medieval times. One of the children of the Fatima apparitions was Lucia of Fatima and she was a Nun who lived at the Carmelite Convent in Tui. This is a great village to spend the day, recover some energy and plan ahead. After crossing the border of Spain there is a 1 hour + time zone change. Enjoy your day at Tui.
