Redondela to Pontevedra

Today we leave Redondela and arrive at Pontevedra. There is a good hill climb leaving Redondela early morning. Most of the trail is roads with some forests. There is a Roman bridge near Arcade, the Ponte Sampaio. There are some stone trails leaving Arcade that appear to have been original ancient Roman roads. Before Pontevedra is a small church landmark known as Capela Santa Marta. Pontevedra is a major city in Galicia. At the entrance of Pontevedra is the albergue of the Xunta de Galicia which is very good. Close by the Xunta albergue is the Renfe train station. This train station has connections to Santiago de Compostela. The city center has other private albergues, hotels and restaurants. The exit out of Pontevedra is fairly fast. There are no large industrial parks leaving the city.
