The hike today starts at Viana and reaches the city of Logroño. You are now in the autonomous region of La Rioja. Viana was the last town of Navarra. Logroño is a large city in La Rioja. It is the center of commerce. Logroño has a good transportation infrastructure. La Rioja is famous for their wine. There are hundreds of wine production companies in La Rioja. The hike today is mostly flat terrain. Logroño is a short distance of about 11 kms from Viana. Logroño has a large albergue for pilgrims that is well equipped. It has a good kitchen and is open all year. The albergue is located in the historic part of Logroño.
