Camino-Muxia
The Camino from Santiago to Muxia is 3 days. Some of the terrain of this camino can be challenging. It tends to rain more often in Muxia because of the coastal proximity. Muxia is not heavily traveled, There are good albergues, hostels, restaurants and bars. I prefer Muxia because it has more ambiance than Finisterre. Muxia is ancient, from the times when the Celts moved to Galicia around the 4th century BC. There are Celtic ruins in Muxia. Muxia has the Church of Nuestra Señora de Barca and the monument of the Prestige ship which sunk off the coast. Muxia has a small harbor port. The municipal town hall has their own compostela for peregrinos who show their pilgrim passport. The total distance from Santiago is approximately ~ 89 kms / 3 days to Muxia. Fisterra is an extra day with a distance of approximately 30 kms including the lighthouse.
If you are pressed for time, you can see Muxia by bus. There is a bus that leaves early morning from the Santiago bus station and returns in the afternoon. Check the bus schedule & weekend service. Finisterre has tour buses. The Finisterre lighthouse is slightly away from the village center & may require a taxi. There are several albergues in Muxia & Finisterre.
